Dewey Percy (デューイ・パーシー) is a new character and capture target of Fortune Lover II: Love at the Magical Ministry.
He is an employee under the Magic Research Department of the Magic Ministry.
Appearance[]
Dewey is a youthful-looking boy with orange hair and blue eyes. He is a short boy who, according to Katarina, disappears when someone is in front of him.
Personality[]
Dewey is a tsundere. He has a rocky personality, but is actually very thoughtful and caring.
As he lived alone, he had always been lonely, although he is unaware of the fact. He hates relying on other people, and would stubbornly refuse assistance. According to Katarina, he looks like an adorable puppy when he greets someone or when he follows Maria around.
Background[]
Dewey grew up in a poor family. However, he was a genius who was the first to pass the entrance exams in the Ministry of Magic at the young age of 13.
He was always determined to strive out of their poverty and help out his family. He resented his mother and father for being slothful parents who relied on their children for money and entertainment. While his siblings accepted fate as a poor family, Dewey did not and studied hard on his own to be able to gain a position in the Magic Ministry, after hearing about the rumors about Maria Campbell.
Due to being poor, he had to make most of what he had: tattered rags for clothes and battered books that he had to beg for. He was made fun of and insulted in school due to his poverty, but he bared with it and focused only on his education. His efforts bore fruit, and he was able to graduate school and pass the Ministry exam way earlier than he had planned.
He vowed to live alone, due to having bad memories of his old home. [1]
Game Description[]
Dewey, in Fortune Lover II, is a young employee who doesn't trust other people. He is initially wary of the heroine despite being acquaintances from the same town, due to her privileges as a light mage. He would eventually open his trust and heart to the heroine, after realizing that she gives her all in her work and desires his friendship and company.
Game Route[]
Throughout the game, while trying to gain the attention and affection of the capture targets, the heroine must also try to reveal the identity of the mysterious woman with dark magic that has been causing trouble in the Ministry [2]
- If the heroine and Dewey, the chosen capture target, reveal the identity of the mysterious figure, that person will then be arrested and the two will be able to live a happily ever after together
- If the heroine fails to reveal the identity of the mysterious figure, she and the culprit will duel each other and both die. All the capture targets, including Dewey, will fall prey to dark magic.
Relationships[]
Maria Campbell[]
Dewey and Maria came from the same village. Dewey originally disliked Maria, as he disliked her for being a privileged Light Magic user in the Ministry, but changed his mind after Maria talked to him and desired to be relied on by him. Dewey was touched by her kindness, and decided to open up to Maria. He falls for Maria, and would often follow her around like a puppy in order to keep staying by her side in the Ministry. He would usually look upset whenever she is doing something where he can't follow or be with her. [3]
Katarina Claes[]
In Fortune Lover, Dewey is among the cast who will partake in the identification of the mysterious figure with dark magic, who is revealed to be Katarina herself. Dewey would be involved in throwing Katarina in jail.
In the present, he looked down and hated Katarina because of the rumors circling around that she was only hanging around the Ministry to kill time. As someone who worked hard in order to enter the Ministry, he hated Katarina for being accepted in simply just because she is a Duke's daughter. After Katarina saves him and the other Ministry members against a Dragon familiar during the Ministry test , as well as the persuasion of Maria, he reevaluated his thoughts on Katarina and decides that she really is as amazing as he was told. The two are now good friends who help each other a lot in the Ministry[4].
Cyrus Lanchester[]
Dewey, as well as Maria, work under Cyrus in the Magic Powers Research Department. Cyrus is Dewey's boss and has a very respectful relationship.
Sora Smith[]
Sora and Dewey are both co-workers in the Magic Ministry. They often have lunch together with Katarina and Maria, and they seem to be comfortable around each other.
